The public roster gives two clear timing windows. New Inmates covers bookings in the last 48 hours, and Recent Releases covers releases in the last 48 hours. Current Inmates covers people in custody now. No official Newton County statement was located saying that mugshots remain online after those windows or that the web roster is a historical photo archive.

Recent Release Booking Photos
The Recent Releases tab is important because a booking photo can remain visible after the person leaves custody, but only within the roster's stated release window. The research sample included release records with photos, arrest dates, release timestamps, charges, and sometimes blank city fields. That means a person can be gone from current custody while still appearing briefly in public release records.
The Newton County Recent Releases tab should be checked before calling Dispatch for older released detainee records.
The tab is not an all-time release database. Once the public window passes, the sheriff's phone request route is the supported local fallback.
Mugshot Removal and Sealing
